Now, more than ever, healthcare facilities need environmental infection prevention and control strategies that can effectively prevent healthcare-associated infections. Environmental services (ES) plays a key role in eliminating germs in the healthcare environment that can lead to illness in both patients and healthcare professionals.
This statewide conference will provide a wide range of education for ES staff to assist in the development of an effective infection prevention and control program with tools to support decision making and policy adherence. Conference Leader, Greg May, SHESP, System Director, Environmental Services, Swedish Hospital, Seattle, WA, will bring insights into “The Clinical Environment of Care” and will lead discussions on challenges and opportunities within the healthcare environment. The first 50 facilities to register and attend both days of the conference will receive a complimentary copy of AHA’s Practice Guidance Manual for Healthcare Environmental Services.

Step 1: Registration
- Participants in the program must first register for an account. To do so, visit the REDCap Registration survey.
- While completing registration, ensure you select Antibiotic Stewardship Survey in the Projects list.
- If you don’t know your Medicare/Medicaid CCN number, or you don’t have one, just type N/A.
- Once we receive your registration request, we will create your account and grant access to the appropriate projects. Because this is a manual process, it make take several business days.
- When your account has been generated, you will receive an automated e-mail. Use the link in the e-mail to log in to REDCap and set your password.
Step 2: Data Entry
- Log in to REDCap (https://redcap.qualityhealthnd.org).
- Click My Projects on the top navigation bar.
- Open the Core Elements of Outpatient Antibiotic Stewardship project.
- Click Add/Edit Records on the left navigation bar.
- In the Choose an existing Record ID box, one record will be available for each organization you represent; click on that record to open it.
- Each record consists of one Facility Information form and any number of Checklist forms.
- To edit your Facility Information, click on the circle next to Facility Information.
- Make any necessary changes, then mark the form as Complete, Incomplete, or Unverified, as appropriate.
- To add a checklist, click on the gray circle under Phase I.
- Complete the survey, then mark the form as Complete, Incomplete, or Unverified, as appropriate. Click Save and Exit Form to save it.
- Once you have a completed checklist, you can click +Add New to add additional checklists. Your Quality Improvement representative will suggest a timeline for adding and updating your checklists, such as monthly or quarterly. Your most recent checklist responses will automatically carry forward when you create a new checklist.
